Breakthroughs in Quantum Field Theory and Gravity: an Afternoon with Bern, Dixon and Kosower

You are warmly invited to join a triple seminar by Zvi Bern (UCLA), Lance Dixon (SLAC) and David Kosower (CEA-Saclay) on Thursday 7 November 2019. Please register your attendance in advance.

Over the years Zvi, Lance and David have made seminal contributions to the calculation of scattering amplitudes in Quantum Chromodynamics (the theory of strong interactions) and gravity. Their work has led to both a deeper understanding of Quantum Field Theory and powerful new tools for computing processes relevant for particle physics experiments, such as the Large Hadron Collider,  as well as for gravitational wave experiments such as LIGO.

The event will consist of three seminars, one by each of Bern, Dixon and Kosower. A detailed programme and seminar titles will be provided closer to the time.

Date and time: Thursday 7 November 2019, 14.00 – 17.45.

Location: Room PP1, People’s Palace, Queen Mary University of London, Mile End Road, London E1 4NS.
